This year's Portland Retro Gaming Expo takes place October 17th and 18th at the Oregon Convention Center. The Portland Retro Gaming Expo (PRGE) is one of the largest classic gaming events in the country, and here are some of the highlights you can expect from this year's show:

Audiences can expect to experience awesome new inclusions from “A Link Between Worlds,” the most recently released The Legend of Zelda game. Never-before-performed scores, accompanied by new gameplay imagery, will appear for the first time ever in “Master Quest,” while fans will still be treated to the show’s now-classic repertoire from seasons past.

Extra life is a charity event that generates donations to help support local kids and families. Every hour of gaming you complete, your friends and family can donate money that will be sent to a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital of your choice. Local is the key word here. 

This game will be an Open Table Living campaign event. Meaning that anyone can sit in at any time and play. The game will follow the Shadowrun Missions rules and players will receive Karma and Nuyen at the end of each mission that they can use to improve their character. Game Day is a special tournamen held after each set release. With two chances to win exclusive promo cards and a Champion playmat, Game Day is a great event for newer MTG Standard Players! The tournaments start at 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Please show up early to sign-up.


  • Players should bring their own Standard deck, which is a minimum of 60 cards and has a sideboard of up to 15 cards
  • Players should remember to bring their own method for tracking life totals, as well as tokens, card sleeves, and counters
